An Interesting Observation

I was just doing some research on Planned Parenthood, in preparation for the upcoming 40 Days for Life in the fall, and I found this on a north Texas PP's website:

"We do not provide childcare services. We request that you please make childcare arrangements.

Only infants and toddlers in a car seat or stroller are allowed into the exam room. We request that you please make arrangements for childcare for any other children."

Just another way that shows how anti-child Planned Parenthood really is!! I've never heard of any doctor's office asking parents to not bring their own children with them...

  1. This would be no different at an OBGYN doctor's office. Many OBGYN doctor's offices do NOT provide childcare. Planned Parenthood is not being anti-child.

When a woman steps into Planned Parenthood's exam room/a OBGYN exam room they are their for annual check-ups, PAP-smear cancer screenings etc...having a young child present in the room would be difficult and a little bit inappropriate. Their is medical equipment present and it is not the doctor's responsibility to look after their patients child while they are being examined.

"I've never heard of any doctor's office asking parents to not bring their own children with them..."---> research OBGYN exams before you assume. They are not your everyday doctor's appointment.

  2. I understand that it's not the doctor's responsibility to look after kids. However, I remember that my younger brothers and I went to the OB/GYN with my mom for her check-up when she was pregnant with our sister, and the office didn't have a problem with that. There was no way she would get a babysitter for us just so she could go to a doctor's appointment! We were expected to behave ourselves at the office.
Also, I want to make it clear that this not the main reason that PP is anti-child...their doing abortions/referring for abortions is what makes them anti-child. I was just pointing this out as another small manifestation of that.

  3. You just said that you wouldn't expect an OB/GYN to provide childcare, and then you said your main beef with PP is the abortion aspect, thus negating your original post's point.
